Here is my card for Fab's June challenge. It is a Ho Ho card- sentiment theme!
I used light blue Tim Holtz paper and then distressed it abit. The Santa head is from a cut out . I added pewter snowflakes around the paper... I want to do something else with it but at this point I am at a loss so I will keep it on my table and keep looking at it and mabye inspiration will come by. I know I will add stickles but I dont know where yet...

Festive Blog Hop #12

Can you believe it? Today is almost 6 months till Christmas Day! If you have been joining us here on the Festive Blog Hop you have quite a few Christmas Cards done already! Isn't that a great feeling!
Welcome to the 12th installment of the hop! If you came here from Cheryl's blog then you are in the right place but if you just happened upon my blog and want to start at the beginning go to Terri's blog.
Ok now for my card! This week I went for simple because this is a huge work week and I just haven't been inspired. I really don't like that feeling at all but I am hoping I got my mojo back. Last night I challenged myself - got out one piece of patterned paper, a scrap of red paper, a round punch, my corner chomper, my notebook punch thingy from SU and one cuttlebug folder and this is what I came up with. Card is 5 x 61/2. PP is a 1/4 inch smaller then punch down the left side to look like a notebook. I punch Joy from the PP. I then used my corner punch on the two side pieces and ran then thru the big shot using the allegro cuttlebug folder.
I really wanted to put stickles somewhere on it but I think it calls for a muted look!

Thanks for hopping with us, and if you like join us on facebook for the Christmas Card Challenge... and share your christmas cards with us!

MME CARD CHALLENGE #24

If you are looking for Creative EdVentures blog hop scroll down two posts... have fun hopping!!!

The challenge: Design a card based on this fabulous sketch (by Anam Stubbington).
(on MME blog)
Along with the sketch, you must use this theme: Song Lyrics – you choose the song! (be sure to credit the artist{s})
The rules: Use ANY My Mind’s Eye products (current or past) as long as your project has at least 80% My Mind’s Eye products.
The deadline: Add a link to your project to the bottom of this post using inlinkz by Sunday, June 19, 2011 (midnight, MST). Please include your first and last name and project name when uploading. (a photo of your card will show directly in the post)

My project is 100% MME. I used Lime Twist 6x6 designer pp. Out Of The Blue.
The alpha is MME Fly A Kite "genuine" alphabet.

The song is Its Your Day by Yiruma. Also done by Blessed Union of Souls..
I kinda cheated on the song as I wanted a Birthday Card so I found a title I wanted then found out if it was recorded.

The card is very simple but colourful.
All egdes are distressed with scissors.
I was thinking this would be a great card for a young boy.
All paper and accessories are from Up The Street in Strathroy Ontario.

My Minds Eye contest layout- Sketch and Music...#24

If you are looking for my card from the Edventures Blog hop go down one post! Thanks.

Here is my entry for the My Mind's Eye Blog Contest #24.
All the products used are My Mind's Eye except for the red cardstock which is Tim Holtz and the fabric covered brads which I had in my stash.
I also used a MS punch for the hearts on the red paper. I love this border punch.
Even the daisy fabric ribbon and the lace is My Mind's Eye.I got it for another layout then liked it with this one.
The three little phrases under the pictures say
How often our hearts return to the home that's filled with love- left side
brothers and sisters are the best kinds of friends- middle
Our family is raised on love and happiness - right side.
All the paper and the accessories came from Up The Street in Strathroy, Ontario my favorite local scrapbook store!

The patterned paper is Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky paper line..I used both sides of the same paper. I also used Out Of The Blue accessories sheet which is also Lime Twist. I used letters cut out with my Cricut and layered. They are from Lyrical Letters (jumbo)
The song is We Are Family from Sister Sledge. This song was a 1979 dance hit.

Thanks to My Mind's Eye for the challenge. I don't do much scrapbooking anymore and I need to get caught up( hahaaaaha)!

I am so excited and honoured to be part of this hop.
We are showcasing Sue Miller stamps and the hop is sponsored by Sue Miller and Queen Kat Designs. I will say I LOVE these stamps, they are so beautiful!

These images gave me some trouble but I finally got an image I (kind of) like.I tried to do two other images but I have come to the conclusion that I need alot of practice at colouring stamps.. I tried chalk and colouring on the wrong side of vellum and it was fun trying but nothing I could show.. but what a fun way to learn!

I made an easel card. It was a great way to show the Hello sentiment on the card.
The stamp is called Angel Knock. I used copic markers and a few prisma pencil crayons. I also used my best friend Stickles. I am not sure I can do a project without them.
The image is on Kraft cardstock from Michaels. I then matted it on purple bazzill and then on corrigated cardstock I got from Up The Street in Strathroy my favorite LSS. I then put the whole thing on brown bazzill.
The card is a 6x6 inch. Under the hello which I cut out on my Cricut and designed with my gypsy, I stamped some butterflies from Butterfly Wings, a CTMH stamp set.
I also used my Tim Holtz distress inks to ink everything in sight!
I have to say a big thanks to Fab because I like to try different folds and more variations on those folds and he has showed me how! So thanks!
Next stop on the hop is Fab's blog so have a great time and enjoy his fabulous card!

I went for simple and elegant and simple and fun this week as I am still having some problems with my right hand, so here they are....

All four cards made with 2 pieces of white 8 1/2by 11 cardstock... two I used my Tim Holtz snowman embossing folder, one my Tim Holtz tall trees embossing folder and one my cuttlebug Winter Scene embossing folder. I then added some bling, or a rub on (Merry Christmas) or some stickers I had.. added a little distress ink.. two I folded differently and in less than 15 min had 4 Christmas cards!

Hope you like them.. next hop I am going to try some new folds as I got a neat book in the mail..Susan's Journal of Paper Engineering (thanks to Fab for showing me this book in one of his shows).
